Job summary

Therm-x of California seeks an experienced Director of Quality to lead and standardize quality systems across all facilities in the United States. This role will develop and execute the global quality strategy, improve customer quality performance, support product transfers and facility startups, and build a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Therm-x is seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead and standardize quality systems across all company facilities. This role will develop and execute the global quality strategy, improve customer quality performance, support product transfers and facility startups, and build a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Develop and execute a company-wide quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Standardize quality systems, procedures, policies, metrics, and best practices across Therm-x facilities.
• Ensure quality and manufacturing systems meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate the sharing and implementation of quality best practices among manufacturing locations.
• Ensure confidential and sensitive quality, customer, and business information is handled appropriately.
• Monitor customer quality performance and lead corrective actions, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive process FMEA, risk reduction, and error-proofing initiatives to improve manufacturing capability and prevent recurrence.
• Drive FMEA, 8D, RCCA, QPPM, statistical analysis, process controls, and error-proofing activities.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and site Quality Managers to improve product and process quality.
• Lead quality activities for product introductions, facility startups, and intercompany transfers, ensuring transfer readiness and successful launches across Therm-x facilities.
• Coach and mentor Quality Managers, Quality Engineers, and quality team members to deliver consistent results for internal and external customers.
• Establish measurable quality objectives, performance metrics, training programs, and succession plans.
• Drive continuous improvement in individual, team, and facility-level quality performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce the cost of quality and eliminate non-value-added activities.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership and Therm-x facilities regarding quality performance and strategy execution.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Master’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering or manufacturing quality experience with at least 5 years within the Semiconductor industry.
• 7+ years of quality leadership or management experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel internationally (primarily between US, Mexico, and Asia-Pacific hub regions) to manage supplier and customer relations.
• Strong knowledge of FMEA, 8D, RCCA, DPPM, quality planning, and statistical tools.
• Experience with machining, welding, sheet metal, inspection planning, measurement systems, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Multi-site or global quality leadership experience preferred.
