Job summary

Waaree Solar Americas Inc. seeks a Director of Quality to lead end-to-end quality control and assurance at Brookshire, TX and Goodyear, AZ facilities.

You will own ISO 9001 QMS, ensure IEC/UL certifications, and serve as the primary contact for customer audits and escalations. The role requires 12–18+ years in manufacturing quality with strong leadership, plus direct PV module manufacturing experience or equivalent high-volume electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 15+ years in manufacturing quality with leadership experience.
• Direct experience in solar PV module manufacturing preferred.
• Experience owning customer quality for large accounts, including audits and escalations.
• Working knowledge of PV module construction and quality tools (APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, 8D, CAPA).
• Experience scaling quality systems in manufacturing environments.

Job description

The Director of Quality will lead the end-to-end quality control and quality assurance function across manufacturing plants in Brookshire, Texas and Goodyear, Arizona. From incoming inspection through final product release and field reliability. In this role, you will own the quality management system (ISO 9001) at both sites, ensure modules meet IEC/UL certification and customer specifications, and will serve as the primary quality contact for customer audits and escalations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review customer requirements before orders are accepted and make sure the plant can meet them.
• Keep a record of each customer's quality expectations and build them into our inspection process.
• Set up and continually improve the plant's quality system, including how we document issues, investigate problems, and run internal audits.
• Inspect and approve all incoming materials (cells, glass, backsheet, frame, etc.) before they're used, and track suppliers to meet compliance requirements.
• Monitor quality throughout production, catching problems early and stopping the line if something isn't right.
• Give final approval on finished modules — testing power output, checking for defects, and confirming everything is ready to ship.
• Manage product testing and certification (IEC/UL standards) and work with outside test labs to keep certifications current.
• Host customer visits and audits; lead the response when a customer raises a quality concern.
• Keep all testing and measuring equipment properly calibrated and accurate.
• Evaluate and score suppliers, working with Procurement to improve or replace underperforming ones.
• Find ways to reduce waste, rework, and returns, and track quality performance over time.
• Build and manage the quality team, covering incoming inspection, in-process checks, final inspection, testing, and calibration.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical experience).
• 12–18+ years in manufacturing quality, including 5+ years leading a plant-\ or function-level quality organization.
• Direct experience in solar PV module manufacturing (or comparable high-volume electronics/semiconductor/precision-assembly manufacturing) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience owning customer quality for large utility/IPP/EPC accounts, including hosting audits and resolving field/warranty escalations.
• Working knowledge of PV module construction, failure modes, IEC 61215/61730, UL 61730, IEC TS 63209, and quality tools (APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, 8D, CAPA).
• Track record standing up or scaling quality systems in a greenfield or ramp‑up manufacturing environment is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree and/or CQE/CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
