Job summary

Pilgrim’s is a leading global food company seeking a Director of Quality Assurance for feed mills to lead animal food safety programs and regulatory compliance across multiple complexes. The role requires experience with FDA/USDA regulations and 3rd party certifications, with travel up to 30 weeks per year and a strong focus on audits and program integrity.

Qualifications

• Work related experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, FDA and USDA regulation is preferred.
• Work related experience in Quality Assurance methods and 3rd party certification programs is required.
• A degree in Poultry Science or a food safety related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Animal Food Safety Plans and ensure regulatory requirements are met across facilities.
• Enforce standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation per QA Manual and 6S principles.
• Maintain Supplier Verification Program to satisfy Food Safety Modernization Act requirements.
• Conduct on-site audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and certifications.
• Develop, implement and maintain third-party audit-ready programs for complexes with value-added product claims.
• Attend certification audits and ensure corrective actions are completed at the complex level.
• Assist management in FDA/USDA regulatory changes awareness and implementation.
• Support the complex, customers and suppliers to ensure integrity of processes related to customer programs.
