Job summary

The County of Santa Clara is seeking a senior supervisor to lead a team of project managers, construction managers, inspectors, and consultant program managers responsible for the design, construction and modification of county buildings and structures.

Under general direction, you will oversee scope, budget, funding, and schedule, participate in consultant selection and contract negotiations, and ensure projects meet all regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Experience with public sector facilities projects and capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise project managers, construction managers, inspectors and consultant program managers.
• Oversee scope, budget, funding, and schedule for capital projects.
• Participate in consultant selection, fee negotiations, and contract approvals.
• Ensure projects stay within budget and schedule; analyze claims and payments.
• Prepare and present project status reports; communicate with agencies and consultants.
• Provide guidance on project criteria, regulations, and codes; CEQA and ADA compliance.
• Develop policies to ensure quality control of construction and inspection functions.
