Job summary

Foundation for Women Warriors seeks a Director of Programs to provide strategic leadership across emergency and transitional services, childcare support, financial wellness, and professional development for women veterans and their families.

You will lead program staff, manage budgets, ensure data integrity, evaluate outcomes, and build partnerships with veteran-serving organizations. A bachelor's in a related field is required, with 7+ years in program leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible program or human services experience, including 3+ years supervising staff.
• Experience managing nonprofit, human services, financial assistance, or community-based programs.
• Experience working with veterans, military-connected communities, or economically vulnerable populations is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, manage competing priorities, and hold staff accountable for results.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with CRM/client management and project management systems such as Apricot, Collaborate, Monday.com, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
• Strong commitment to FFWW’s mission of enhancing the economic and overall well-being of women veterans and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of FFWW programs and services.
• Oversee the full program cycle including outreach, intake, eligibility, assessment, intervention, referrals, follow-up, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve program policies, procedures, workflows, and quality standards.
• Ensure services are veteran centered, culturally responsive, resilience oriented, and delivered with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Monitor program budgets, financial assistance, childcare funds, and other program resources to ensure responsible use.
• Identify emerging client needs, service gaps, and opportunities for program growth and improvement.
• Lead, supervise, coach, and develop program staff while promoting accountability and collaboration.
• Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing training and professional development.
• Support staff in navigating complex or sensitive client situations and determine appropriate interventions.
