Job summary

The Michigan Office of the Auditor General is seeking a Director of Professional Practice in Lansing to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Office of Professional Practice, including Working Paper Review and Audit Report Review.

The role ensures the organization’s quality management system, provides professional and technical support to Audit Operations, and advises the Auditor General on changes in professional auditing standards that impact operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting is required.
• Two years at the State Administrative Manager 15 level or above.
• CPA or other professional certifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Office of Professional Practice.
• Administer Working Paper Review and Audit Report Review sections.
• Maintain the office's quality management system and standards.
• Advise the Auditor General on changes in auditing standards affecting operations.
