At RudderStack, we are redefining enterprise-scale data collection and routing. We are building a customer data platform (CDP) on the customer's own data warehouse. Our open-source, developer-first approach is the first of its kind. We understand the outsized impact customer data has on businesses, and we understand the challenges and pain points. About the role

We're seeking an experienced Director of Product to grow, lead and mentor our product management team, while driving strategic product initiatives at RudderStack. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you'll balance people leadership with hands-on product ownership of a critical new vertical. This role combines strategic thinking, team development, and direct product execution to help RudderStack expand its market presence and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

What you'll do

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer obsession
  • Define and implement product management best practices, frameworks, and processes across the team
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for direct reports
  • Partner with the CPO to align team objectives with company strategy and OKRs
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and marketing leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment

Strategic Product Ownership

  • Own and drive a new key vertical from conception to market success
  • Lead customer discovery and market research to identify opportunities and validate product-market fit
  • Develop and maintain the product strategy and roadmap for the new vertical
  • Define success metrics and drive data-informed decision making
  • Present product vision and updates to executive team and board as needed

Organizational Impact

  • Contribute to overall product strategy and vision alongside CPO and product leadership team
  • Establish prioritization frameworks balancing customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility
  • Drive product operations efficiency through improved planning, communication, and execution cadences
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and partners to inform product direction

Requirements

  • Portfolio of successful products with measurable business impact at scale
  • Experience in leading and mentoring Product Managers through various growth stages
  • Experience in data infrastructure, analytics, or developer tools strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven product development
