Job Description

The Director of Procurement is responsible for all aspects of product procurement for the Operating Company to include, leading and managing procurement team performance as measured by fill rates, inventory levels, and turns, dead and obsolete inventory, margin and cost of goods, Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) reduction or consolidation and supplier credits.

Serve as a liaison to field for support on procurement issues. Directly responsible for managing several team members. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

  • Develop and execute a standardized category management platform via strategic component implementation in order to improve the company's financial performance.
  • Implement components to include process and policy development, performance management, compliance management, talent management, supplier management, IT integration, and internal relationship building.
  • Supports functional activities include establishing accountabilities at different levels within procurement and category management.
  • Communicates policies and business drivers clearly and compellingly.
  • Drives improved procurement performance.
  • integrates procurement and category management objectives with business' objectives.
  • Assesses staff competencies.
  • Develops and retains high performing staff.
  • Links procurement and category management business plans to supplier partner strategies.
  • Develop relationships with key business decision makers internally and externally.
  • Integrates e-commerce into the long-range procurement/category management strategic plan.


Required Qualifications

5 years + in procurement or related area with supervisory experience

Proficient in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters/MBA

10 years + of experience leading the procurement/merchandising function in the foodservice industry.
