Job description

Location: Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Kansas City, or Raleigh-Durham, NC

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Company Overview

We are an industry-leading engineering, construction management, and compliance firm dedicated exclusively to the life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and regulated industries. With a heritage rooted in technical excellence and entrepreneurial delivery, the company partners with the world’s most innovative pharmaceutical, biotech, and cell & gene therapy organizations to deliver complex, mission-critical facilities that improve lives globally.

We are known for its integrated delivery model, combining engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, qualification, and validation under one roof. This model allows the company to deliver speed, quality, and accountability across the full project lifecycle—especially in highly regulated GMP environments.

Culture & Values

The company fosters a culture built on:

  • Safety first — protecting people, projects, and communities
  • Entrepreneurial ownership — leaders are empowered to act and innovate
  • Technical excellence — solutions must work in the real world
  • People development — mentoring, advancement, and pride in craftsmanship

Employees are trusted as leaders, encouraged to think beyond their role, and supported by a firm that values integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role

This Process Controls Director role is a rare opportunity for a senior instrumentation and controls leader to shape how complex, highly regulated life-science facilities are designed, built, commissioned, validated, and defended from day one. The company’s integrated delivery model places automation at the center of project success - linking instrumentation, controls, compliance, and operations rather than treating them as downstream functions.

In this role, you are not just executing standards or managing vendors; you are setting technical direction, mentoring future I&C and automation leaders, and partnering directly with clients to solve real GMP and manufacturing challenges. For leaders who value technical credibility, client trust, and the ability to influence outcomes across the full project lifecycle, the company offers both autonomy and scale—without sacrificing quality, safety, or purpose.

You’ll lead the delivery of instrument and control system packages, support construction-phase readiness, and serve as a key liaison between engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
