Ragnar Benson Construction, LLC is seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead the estimating staff, allocate resources to multiple pursuits, and coordinate pre-bid activities. This office-based role supports projects nationwide from Rockford, IL.

The ideal candidate will drive estimating practices, manage data, and develop KPI reports while collaborating with all disciplines to ensure timely submittals. Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, Bid2Win required.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a minimum of 10+ years in estimating construction projects.
• Proven experience leading a team and mentoring staff.
• Strong presentation and written communication skills.
• Understand contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specs.
• B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with industry software like MS Project, Primavera P6, Bid2Win.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan, organize, and coordinate estimating activities.
• Attend project meetings to convey requirements and goals.
• Set timelines and goals for submittals and estimates.
• Ensure cross-disciplinary collaboration on estimates.
• Review bids, specs, drawings, and contracts to resolve issues.
• Lead and develop the estimating department staff.
• Provide KPI reports on estimate types and values.
• Prepare post-bid budget and handoff to cost control.
