Job summary

Supreme Industries, Inc. is seeking a Director of Preconstruction & Estimating, responsible for managing the estimating discipline, its people and tools, and supporting all bidding.

This position is located at our headquarters in Harwinton, CT. Selected candidate will have initial goals of developing the estimating discipline’s standards & practices to achieve long-term success, in addition to performing routine bid support.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an Estimator in the Utilities and Civil construction industry.
• Experience using HeavyBid, B2W, or similar software is desired but not necessary.
• Previous success in leading an estimating team of 3 or more direct reports.
• Highly effective team-building skills, including leading and directing the work of others.
• Highly organized individual accustomed to managing multiple priorities; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Work with management to track and select projects to bid.
• Coach & develop all staff, and manage the bid team throughout the entire process.
• Lead bid review meetings with management.
• Design & manage best-practices for all processes related to Bidding & Estimating
• Partner with other leaders to jointly design next-practices for other areas related to Preconstruction, including Commercial Planning, Business Development, and all handoff / Project Start-up processes.
• Bring tools & technologies to the organization that support Estimating tasks.

Supreme Industries is seeking a qualified Director of Preconstruction & Estimating, responsible for managing the estimating discipline, its people and tools, and supporting all bidding. Selected candidate will have initial goals of developing the estimating discipline’s standards & practices to achieve long-term success, in addition to performing routine bid support. Ultimately, this role is the leader responsible for building a centralized Preconstruction function serving as a center of expertise for pursuit strategy, estimating, commercial planning, and project startup… directly influencing how the company evaluates, pursues, plans, prices, transitions, and strategically wins work.
