Job summary

Roby Commercial is seeking a Director of Preconstruction in Charlotte to lead estimating and preconstruction operations. This role oversees budgeting, pricing, and design development, guiding multiple managers while maintaining strong relationships with architects, developers, and clients.

You will mentor staff, optimize estimating systems, and support business development through client meetings and proposals. A 6+ year track record and a 4-year degree are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience.
• 4-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction pricing, budgeting, and estimating practices.
• Experience managing multiple projects during design and preconstruction phases.
• Ability to build relationships with architects, engineers, developers, and clients.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage preconstruction staff.
• Proficiency with estimating software, project management platforms, and digital takeoff tools.
• Excellent communication, organization, and strategic planning abilities.
• A reputation for accuracy, professionalism, and building trusted client relationships.

Responsibilities
