Job description

About the role:

This role is fully remote in the USA. The Director of Presales Engineering will develop and execute the pre-sales engineering strategy aligned with business and sales goals. You will lead, manage, and develop the pre-sales team across all regions. The team provides pre-sales support and business value consulting to prospects alongside the sales team, working closely with Sales, Product, and Technical teams to deliver tailored solutions. Your experience in managing sales engineering teams and designing tailored demos and proof-of-value programs will be essential for team and business growth.

Day-to-day responsibilities & accountabilities:

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing strategies for pre-sales activities including technical support, discovery, demos, solution design, POVs, trials, and RFPs.
  • Collaborating with sales leaders to enhance market position and revenue through technical sales strategies.
  • Creating impactful presentations and demos to demonstrate our solutions’ value.
  • Providing content for industry events.
  • Improving pre-sales processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Utilizing productivity-enhancing tools and technologies.
  • Leading by example as a customer-first ambassador, acting as a player/coach.
  • Mentoring and developing a high-performing pre-sales engineering team.
  • Collaborating with sales and customer success teams to meet new business and expansion goals.
  • Establishing KPIs and OKRs for the pre-sales function.

Key skills:

You’ll have:

  • 5+ years leading a distributed, high-performing sales engineering team, including transactional and strategic sales.
  • At least 10 years as a successful Sales Engineer.
  • Experience selling into Salesforce and QA/Test Automation markets.
  • Strong understanding of software sales cycles and customer needs analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to learn Provar, DevOps, and CI/CD tools.
