Job summary

University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) seeks a Director of Policies, Compliance and Programmatic Agreements to lead policy development and compliance across statewide operations. The role oversees MOUs, training, and governance with a focus on ethics, records, privacy, and programmatic agreements.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with travel between Oakland and Davis, reporting to the UC ANR Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Broad knowledge of ethics and compliance, including laws and organizational processes.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze legal documents and translate requirements into actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for leadership briefing.
• Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive issues and fostering accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy planning, development, and administration of UC ANR policies.
• Oversee policy management system and ensure alignment with laws and university standards.
• Develop and deliver compliance guidance and training for UC ANR staff and leaders.
• Manage records management and privacy programs, and CA records requests.
• Coordinate conflicts of interest and delegations of authority; advise on privacy issues.
• Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate unit staff; support Controller.
