Job summary

Rockford Center in Newark, DE seeks a Plant Operations Director to oversee Housekeeping and Maintenance, ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients and staff. The role leads staff, coordinates preventive maintenance, and aligns with infection-control and quality standards.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of NFPA, JCAHO, CMS, OSHA. Certification as a Healthcare Facility Manager is preferred or obtainable within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Construction Management or Business Admin preferred; high school diploma/GED accepted.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of NFPA, Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA and local codes.
• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager or ability to obtain within one year.
• Experience in building trades: HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with CMMS and BMS.
• Project management experience; leadership of a diverse labor force.
• Ability to interact with senior leadership professionally.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of Housekeeping and Maintenance.
• Conduct safety surveys and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Apply standards related to housekeeping and plant safety.
• Plan monthly training, cross training and communications.
• Submit Annual Training Calendar for EOC staff.
• Implement Housekeeping Unitization program.
• Identify service delivery trends and implement changes.
• Coordinate supplies, equipment, and vendor contracts.
• Maintain licensure and certifications with relevant authorities.
