Job summary

Mt. Cuba Center in Delaware seeks a Director of Philanthropy to build a comprehensive fundraising program from the ground up and grow annual philanthropic revenue to $3M within five years.

The role leads multi-year strategies, donor development, memberships, and acts as Board liaison on fundraising matters. The ideal candidate has 7-10 years of leadership fundraising experience with a track record securing 5- and 6-figure gifts, preferably in mission-driven nonprofits, and CRM proficiency.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years progressive fundraising leadership experience.
• Proven track record securing 5- and 6-figure gifts.
• Experience in mission-driven nonprofits preferred (museums, gardens, enviro-focused).
• Strong communication skills; CRM proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-year fundraising strategies to grow revenue.
• Manage all donor development activities (major gifts, annual giving, grants, sponsorships).
• Oversee membership programs and donor stewardship.
• Serve as primary Board liaison on fundraising matters.
