Location: Centrally based, with regular travel between pharmacy locations. Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt. Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The Opportunity

Valley Vital Care is hiring a Director of Pharmacy to own the enterprise clinical and governance engine across our acute and specialty infusion network. This is the central clinical leadership seat spanning Pharmacy, Nursing, Operations, and Revenue Cycle – accountable for medication safety, regulatory and accreditation compliance, pharmacy practice standards, clinical quality, and the standardization of pharmacy operations across every location.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on multi‑site pharmacy leader who is energized by a growth‑stage environment: building the practice standard as the network expands, not just maintaining one that’s already settled. You will own how pharmacy practice works enterprise‑wide – site‑level operations stay with each location’s Clinical Operations Manager, in close partnership with you and your PICs.

What You’ll Own

• Clinical Governance & Regulatory Oversight – Maintain enterprise oversight of pharmacy regulatory compliance across all locations and service lines; hold expert command of USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, and pharmacy practice standards, and translate them into enforceable enterprise policy. Lead audit and survey readiness, accreditation preparation, and corrective‑action planning.
• Pharmacy Clinical Leadership – Provide direct leadership for Pharmacists in Charge (PICs), pharmacists, biologic coordinators, pharmacy educators, and clinical staff. Oversee orientation, competency validation, training, and clinical development, and serve as a clinical resource to prescribers, referral sources, and patients.
• Strategic & Financial Leadership – Participate in strategic planning for growth, therapy expansion, and operational scalability. Collaborate with executive leadership on formulary strategy, pharmacy operations optimization, budgeting, and de novo development.
• Performance Improvement & Quality – Lead pharmacy performance‑improvement initiatives, set quality expectations, and monitor metrics. Ensure enterprise consistency in sterile‑compounding quality, medication handling, and clinical documentation as the network scales.
• Dyad Partnership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Establish and reinforce the operational‑clinical dyad between Clinical Operations Managers and PICs at each site, aligning operational execution with pharmacy clinical standards and providing escalation support where priorities intersect.

Your First 90 Days

Within your first 90 days, you’ll deliver a written enterprise pharmacy assessment to the COO – covering the state of clinical practice and compliance at every site, the maturity of the current governance model, the top friction points in the system, and a proposed 12‑month plan to mature enterprise pharmacy with quarterly milestones. It’s your chance to put your own stamp on the function early, with executive visibility from day one.

What You’ll Bring

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing (multi‑state licensure preferred)
• Progressive pharmacy leadership or multi‑site healthcare operations experience
• Experience in infusion pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, acute care therapies, ambulatory infusion, or home infusion
• Strong command of USP <797>, USP <800>, accreditation standards, sterile‑compounding operations, and pharmacy regulatory requirements
• A track record of leading through growth, integration, and operational standardization in a multi‑site environment, including clinical‑quality programs and workforce development
• Strong change leadership and cross‑functional influence across Operations, Nursing, Revenue Cycle, and Executive Leadership, with strong communication, financial, and strategic planning skills

Preferred: PharmD; multi‑site or specialty‑pharmacy platform experience; experience standardizing practice across acquired sites; experience standing up an enterprise pharmacy governance function.

Position Details

• Direct Reports: Pharmacists in Charge (PICs); biologic coordinators, pharmacy educators, and pharmacy clinical staff roll up through the clinical line
• Key Partnership: At each site, PICs operate in a dyad with Clinical Operations Managers (COMs); you will partner cross‑functionally with Nursing, Revenue Cycle, Intake, and Executive Leadership
• Scope: Enterprise pharmacy practice across all Valley Vital Care locations, both acute and specialty therapy lines, and the central clinical‑governance function
• Travel: Regular travel between pharmacy locations; centrally based otherwise
• FLSA Status: Exempt

Day‑to‑day site operations, staffing, scheduling, and non‑clinical performance management stay with each site's Clinical Operations Manager. This role is built for enterprise clinical leadership, not site‑level operational management – depending on experience and scope, it may be leveled as Pharmacy Manager, Director, or VP of Pharmacy.
