Start Date: Immediate | Includes 30 Days of Housing + Relocation Bonus

Rural Staffing Services (RSS) is actively recruiting a Director of Pharmacy who is ready to lead with purpose, heart, and vision. This is a mission-driven hospital in one of Alaska's most breathtaking and remote coastal communities

This role can be filled on an interim, interim-to-perm, or permanent basis, depending on your availability and long-term goals. Either way, you'll be stepping into a leadership position where your experience will directly impact a hospital and community that truly values exceptional care.

As Director of Pharmacy, you'll oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical services. You'll lead operations, maintain regulatory compliance, support the hospital's 340B program, and implement strategic initiatives that support both clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff

  • Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and all state/federal regulations

  • Managing and optimizing the 340B Drug Pricing Program

  • Leading medication safety and quality improvement initiatives

  • Collaborating across departments to align pharmacy operations with patient care goals

  • Contributing to fiscal responsibility and strategic planning

What Were Looking For:

  • Graduation from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE

  • At least five (5) years of recent pharmacist experience

  • Two (2) years of pharmacy leadership or management preferred

  • Active Alaska Pharmacist License (or ability to obtain)

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Why This Opportunity Is Truly Unique:

This remote Alaska community is one of the most remarkable places you can live and work. It's accessible only by plane or boat, creating a uniquely close-knit environment surrounded by untouched wilderness and dramatic natural beauty.

  • Glaciers, rainforests, and waterfalls are just part of the backdrop

  • Whale watching, bald eagles, and sea otters are common sights

  • World-class hiking, kayaking, and fishing are just minutes from your door

  • The local culture blends rich Alaska Native heritage, public art, and community-driven festivals

  • A charming historic downtown features colorful buildings, local shops, and a thriving arts scene

Whether you're taking in panoramic views from a mountaintop or enjoying a cozy meal at a local café, this location offers a lifestyle that's as unforgettable as it is inspiring.
