Job summary

Reflect Orbital is seeking a hands-on Director of Permitting to build its permitting function from scratch. You will work with the FAA, FCC, state and local authorities, landowners, and international space law as we scale from a first demonstration satellite to thousands of sites.

This high-ownership role requires travel, direct regulator engagement, and translating regulatory requirements into satellite and mission design constraints while growing a live permit pipeline.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in permitting or regulatory roles in energy, aerospace, telecom, or infrastructure.
• Proven track record building a function from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to engage regulators and landowners; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end permitting and site-approvals for every location.
• Build the permitting playbook from the ground up.
• Engage with federal, state, and local regulators to define requirements.
• Develop relationships with landowners, utilities, and officials near sites.
• Manage a live pipeline of permits as Reflect Orbital scales.
