ABOUT INSPECTED

Inspected is a fast-growing, tech-enabled construction technology company revolutionizing remote inspections and permitting for the construction industry. We serve homebuilders, HVAC, solar, roofing, pool, and commercial and residential contractors across Florida, Texas, North Carolina, and beyond — with additional markets launching soon.

Our proprietary platform, Permit Hub, is transforming a process that once took months into one that takes days. Inspected has performed over 250,000 remote inspections to date and is one of South Florida's fastest-growing companies, with 100% growth for three consecutive years. As we expand into new states, our permitting function is one of the most critical engines of that growth — and we are building the leadership team to match.

POSITION SUMMARY

Inspected is seeking an experienced, organized, and growth-minded Director of Permitting to lead and scale our permitting operations nationally. This is a senior leadership role responsible for owning the full permitting lifecycle — from permit application submission and municipal coordination through approval, inspection scheduling, and final closeout — across our existing Florida headquarters division and a rapidly expanding multi-state footprint. This role requires true multi-trade permitting depth: the successful candidate will have hands‑on experience permitting across multiple modalities — including doors and windows, HVAC, roofing, water heaters, solar, pools, electrical and plumbing updates or repairs, and other home improvement projects that require permits — and the ability to build teams and playbooks that handle each trade’s unique requirements.

The Director of Permitting will build, train, and lead dedicated permitting teams for each new market — Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia — while maintaining the operational excellence and speed our Florida contractors depend on. This is not a role for someone who simply manages an existing team. This is a builder's role. You will design the organizational structure, establish the workflows, hire the talent, and create the playbook that scales with the company.

This role is critical to Inspected's multi-state expansion strategy. Each new market requires jurisdiction‑specific registration, municipal relationship‑building, and a dedicated permitting team before inspections can begin. The Director of Permitting owns that pipeline from market entry to full operational capacity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HQ Permitting Operations — Florida
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Plantation, FL permitting team — including Permit Coordinators and Registration & Activation Specialists
  • Own all Florida permitting workflows from permit application through final approval and closeout, ensuring accuracy, speed, and compliance at every stage
  • Oversee permitting across multiple trades and scopes of work — including doors and windows, HVAC, roofing, water heaters, solar, pools, electrical and plumbing updates or repairs, and other home improvement projects requiring permits — and ensure the team understands each trade’s permit requirements, product approvals, documentation, and inspection sequence
  • Build trade‑specific checklists and submission standards so permit packages are complete and accurate the first time, regardless of modality
  • Monitor permit pipeline performance daily using Permit Hub; identify bottlenecks and drive continuous process improvement
  • Manage relationships with Florida Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), building departments, and municipal contacts
  • Ensure all Florida permits are submitted, tracked, followed up on, and closed within established SLA targets
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex or stalled permit applications, code interpretation questions, and AHJ disputes
  • Maintain and continuously improve SOPs, documentation standards, and quality controls for the HQ permitting function
Multi‑State Market Expansion — TX, NC, SC, GA
  • Build the permitting infrastructure for each new market from the ground up — including jurisdiction research, municipal registration campaigns, team hiring, and workflow design
  • Partner with the Compliance and Registration & Activation teams to ensure each new jurisdiction is registered, activated, and operationally ready before permitting volume begins
  • Recruit, hire, onboarding, and train dedicated Permit Coordinators and Registration Specialists for Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia as each market launches
  • Establish market‑specific permitting playbooks that account for state licensing requirements, code adoption differences, fee structures, portal systems, and AHJ relationship protocols
  • Coordinate with Managing Directors and anchor Inspectors in each new market to ensure permitting timelines align with inspection deployment schedules
  • Monitor market entry timelines and proactively flag any permitting or registration risks that could delay inspection launch
Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing, geographically distributed permitting organization — including both HQ and remote market teams
  • Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and quality standards for all permitting staff across all markets
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development conversations with direct reports
  • Create training programs and onboarding materials for new permitting team members in existing and new markets
  • Foster a team culture of accountability, urgency, accuracy, and contractor‑first service
Systems, Reporting & Process
  • Own all permitting activity within Permit Hub — ensuring data accuracy, pipeline visibility, and reporting integrity across all markets
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting cadences that give leadership real‑time visibility into permit volume, SLA performance, approval rates, and market‑by‑market status
  • Identify and implement technology, automation, and workflow improvements that increase permitting throughput and reduce manual effort
  • Maintain a master jurisdiction database — tracking municipal portals, AHJ contacts, fee schedules, submission requirements, and turnaround benchmarks by market
  • Provide weekly permitting updates to Lance Nossen, Managing Director, and the leadership team covering pipeline health, capacity, and expansion readiness

  • Demonstrated multi‑modality permitting experience, including doors and windows, HVAC, roofing, water heaters, solar, pools, electrical and plumbing updates or repairs, and other home improvement projects that require permits
  • Working knowledge of trade‑specific permit requirements, such as product approvals and impact‑rated opening documentation for windows and doors, equipment and load requirements for HVAC, and wind‑uplift and re‑roof requirements for roofing
