Job summary

Meridian Services in Golden Valley, MN seeks a Director of Payroll Operations to lead the payroll department across all entities. You will ensure timely payroll processing, tax payments, and reporting, while managing the team and improving processes.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in payroll/finance, oversees staff, and is proficient with EVV and AxisCare. A 4-year degree is preferred; security clearances and driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Payroll Supervisors and Payroll Specialist 2.
• Oversee EVV processes including AxisCare system.
• Maintain and improve internal payroll processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with management to implement new programs.
• Resolve consumer complaints as needed.

Job description

Job Title: Director of Payroll Operations

Location: Golden Valley, MN

Schedule: Monday-Friday typical daytime business hours. Eligible to work from home up to 2 days/week after 90 days of employment

Wage: $84,000.00 annual salary including Full-Time benefits

Essential Job Duties:

• Oversight and supervision to Orion Associates payroll department.
• Responsible for the overall and timely processing and payment of payroll for all entities.
• Responsible for all Federal, State, and Local payroll tax payments, filings, compliance, and reporting for all entities.
• Supervise the Payroll Supervisors and Payroll Specialist 2 positions.
• Responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the payroll department contract
• Responsible for the integrity of the Great Plains payroll system, including all payroll reports.
• Responsible for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) processes including AxisCare system
• Responsible for implementation and analysis of quarterly internal audits.
• Handle and resolve consumer complaints as needed.
• Set up, maintain, and continually work to improve internal processes and procedures.
• Works with the management team to implement new programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of job-related Payroll and Finance (AR/AP) experience
• 1+ years of experience directly overseeing employees
• Strong knowledge of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems and AxisCare system
• At least 2 years of experience directly overseeing employees
• Successful clearance of Department of Human Services background check
• Successful clearance of Motor Vehicle Background Check and acceptable driving record per Company Policy
• Proficient in spoken and written English language

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Accounting, Business Finance, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
• Professional Certification in Payroll (CPS, CPP, CFP)
• Knowledge of the field of developmental disabilities, its practices and procedures, and the laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to its operations.
