Job summary

Southwest Search LLC is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Payroll Director to lead a large, highly complex multi-state payroll operation. Dallas/Fort Worth candidates will be prioritized, with a hybrid schedule.

The role covers union payroll across 10+ payrolls, involves travel (50% initially, reducing over time), and requires a Bachelor's, CPP or FPC, and extensive leadership of payroll teams using major HRIS platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing multi-state union payrolls.
• Leadership experience managing large payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax, reconciliation and reporting.
• Experience with major HRIS/payroll platforms such as SAP, ADP, Workday, UKG, Oracle or Ceridian.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience.
• Experience supporting 10,000+ employees.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• CPP/FPC required.
• Approximately 50% travel initially, then decreasing over time.

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Payroll Director to lead a large, highly complex multi-state payroll operation. If you are better suited for a Payroll Manager position/title,

The organization processes over 10 different payrolls across multiple states and employee populations, including hourly, salaried, union, non-union, off-cycle, and executive payrolls.

What We're Looking For

• Union payroll experience required
• Payroll leadership experience
• Strong payroll compliance, tax, reconciliation, and reporting knowledge
• Experience with a major payroll/HRIS platform such as SAP, ADP, Workday, UKG, Oracle, or Ceridian
• 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience
• Experience overseeing large-scale payroll operations
• Experience supporting 10,000+ employees
• Bachelor's degree required
• CPP/FPC required
• Approximately 50% travel initially, primarily to support and build relationships with the existing payroll team; travel is expected to decrease over time

Manager Level

Candidates with strong hands-on payroll leadership experience who are not yet at the Director level are also encouraged to apply. Approximately 25% travel is expected.
