Job summary

Mountain Youth Academy in Mountain City, Tennessee seeks a Director of Patient Activities to lead a comprehensive activity program that supports each patient’s goals in a therapeutic setting.

You will develop engaging weekly schedules, assess life skills, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to foster confidence, connection, and life skills development while maintaining a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years related experience designing and implementing activity/recreation therapy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability to develop and deliver educational lectures and programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive patient activity program.
• Create weekly activity schedules that are engaging, purposeful, and therapeutic.
• Assess patient life skills and help develop goals and interventions.
• Participate in treatment-team meetings and selected therapeutic groups.
• Coordinate activity supplies, inventory, and ordering.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
