Job summary

P3Hired is partnering with a client in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to identify an experienced Director of Operations – Public Grounds & Landscaping. This hands-on leadership role oversees landscaping, grounds maintenance, public sanitation, and related outdoor operations.

The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience overseeing outdoor operations, landscaping, facilities maintenance, or public works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in project management, contractor oversight, budgeting, and operational planning.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of landscaping, grounds maintenance, and public sanitation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for indoor/outdoor work.
• Hands-on, results-oriented approach with project follow-through.
• Experience in public safety, emergency management, or rapid response.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grounds maintenance, landscaping, public sanitation, and related outdoor operations.
• Manage contractors, service agreements, project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor service quality, and address operational issues.
• Coordinate seasonal maintenance and emergency responses, including snow removal and debris cleanup.
• Track performance, manage resources, and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Coordinate with staff, vendors, local agencies, and stakeholders to keep projects on track.
