We are seeking a Director of Origination to join our Americas Energy Advisory Services team.

Our Sustainability Services practice offers comprehensive solutions to help clients achieve their sustainability goals. Our team provides strategic guidance and practical implementation across the real estate value chain, leveraging technology and data analytics to develop tailored strategies that optimize resource efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance sustainability performance. From assessments to ongoing monitoring, JLL partners with clients to drive progress in sustainability, creating value for their business, stakeholders, and the planet.

Energy Advisory, a practice group within Sustainability Services, addresses the growing demand for energy and infrastructure services in real estate. Our approach helps clients source energy contracts, improve on-site energy performance, and optimize energy assets with new technologies.

We are currently seeking a Director of Origination to lead the origination, pricing, and structuring of financial and physical PPAs or off-take agreements. You will negotiate and structure Power Purchase Agreements with utilities, corporate buyers, and other energy off-takers, requiring a deep understanding of energy markets, contracting with utilities, independent power producers, and renewable energy developers. Strong analytical, commercial, procurement, and negotiation skills are essential. You will work closely with development and financial advisory teams to develop projects in our target markets.

Location

This position can be based in any major U.S. city with travel to clients as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate and secure power contracts for JLL's large-scale C&I customers across various industries, including data centers, manufacturing, and logistics, for new and retrofit projects.
• Develop innovative deal structures supporting financing negotiations, differentiating product offerings, and reducing collateral requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, including utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, power marketers, investment banks, and C&I off-takers.
• Monitor traditional PPA markets and identify opportunities for market-based hedge arrangements.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop renewable energy projects, coordinating land negotiations, real estate, engineering, permitting, interconnection, and legal aspects through construction.
• Collaborate on site assessments, project design, technology options, resource assessments, and procurement strategies.
• Manage project permitting processes, working with authorities and securing entitlements for construction and operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, sustainability, finance, or related field.
• At least 8 years in management and origination roles.
• At least 8 years in PPA transactions.
• Strong skills in transaction identification and execution.
• Knowledge of North American utility-scale solar markets, power markets, and customer segments.
• Familiarity with renewable energy storage, forward markets, and physical markets is preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Estimated total compensation: $200,000 – $275,000 USD per year. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, location, and market data.
