Job description

The Director of Operations - Security is responsible for providing operational leadership, governance, and support across Bosch Building Technologies North America (Bosch BT NA) Security projects & branch operations portfolio; including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, integrated systems, and enterprise security projects. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role partners closely with Branch Managers, Operations Managers, and Project Teams to drive consistent project execution, improve forecast accuracy, reduce operational risk, and strengthen financial performance.

The Director of Operations - Security serves as a strategic operational leader focused on project health, resource optimization, excellence, and continuous improvement across the Security business. The role ensures alignment to company standards and operational best practices while supporting branch teams in delivering successful outcomes for customers and stakeholders. This position can be located from any of our major Bosch Building Technologies offices in North America, with a strong preference for the candidate to be close to one of our major Operational Innovation Branches.

Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Branch Support
  • Partner with Branch Managers and Operations Leaders to support execution of business objectives.
  • Conduct regular branch operational reviews to evaluate project health, financial performance, staffing, backlog, and forecast accuracy.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for complex operational issues and escalated project concerns.
  • Support organizational consistency across all Security operations.
Project Execution & Governance
  • Oversee project review programs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify operational, contractual, financial, and execution risks on large projects.
  • Facilitate risk mitigation strategies and recovery planning.
  • Support margin improvement initiatives and reduction of project deviations.
  • Ensure project controls and governance standards are consistently followed.
  • Drive consistent execution standards across all security operations.
Financial & Operational Performance
  • Review project forecasts, earned revenue, gross margin performance, labor utilization, and backlog health.
  • Partner with branch leadership on annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Drive accountability for operational KPIs and project financial performance.
  • Improve forecast accuracy and operational predictability.
Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
  • Implement operational best practices and playbooks.
  • Support standardization of project execution methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and workflow efficiencies.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across assigned branches.
Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Service, and Finance teams.
  • Support seamless project transitions from sales through execution and into service.
  • Ensure operational alignment with strategic organizational objectives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of leadership experience within electronic security operations.
  • Strong expertise in access control, video management systems, intrusion detection, and integrated security solutions.
  • Proven experience managing large project portfolios.
  • Expertise in forecasting, financial management, project controls, and operational leadership.
  • Experience with ERP and project management platforms.
  • A valid Driver’s License and ability to pass pre-employment screens
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Previous and progressive experience in Operational leadership within integrated low voltage security projects & programs
  • Experience developing and implementing national operational standards, including SOPs, domain specific service playbooks, and process guidelines
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally with Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Service, and Finance teams to drive operation initiatives
  • Harmonization of Operations Department through Merger & Acquisition activity
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP platforms

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
Working Conditions
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
  • Overnight travel will be required
Additional Information
  • Compensation: $165,000 - $225,000 + 20-30% Annual Bonus (DOE)
  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday - Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
  • Travel Requirements: 35-50%
