Job summary

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York seeks a Director of Operations to lead AI-BIOME's daily administration and multi-institutional operations. You will develop policies, manage budgets, and ensure compliance across sponsors and partners, reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with CCNY, ASRC, RFCUNY, and others.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in research administration or university operations.
• Experience managing large federally funded programs and centers.
• Experience with NSF/NIH/DOE sponsor requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to coordinate activities across multiple institutions and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily administrative and operational activities of AI-BIOME.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate activities across participating institutions.
• Monitor organizational performance and operational metrics.
• Manage AI-BIOME’s annual operating budget and financial reporting.
• Oversee pre- and post-award administration, contracts and procurement.
• Coordinate laboratory operations, scheduling, and technical workflows.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor, institutional, regulatory, and safety requirements.
