Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for a portfolio of large-scale electrical construction projects.
• Lead and support Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, financial and customer objectives.
• Oversee budgets, forecasting, cost controls, labor productivity, cash flow and profitability.
• Identify risks through regular project reviews and implement mitigation plans.
• Partner with estimating and preconstruction for effective planning and turnover.
• Oversee staffing and resource allocation across major electrical projects.
• Develop and mentor operational leaders and build leadership pipeline.
• Maintain relationships with owners, GCs, developers, engineers and other stakeholders.
• Support contract negotiations, change management, procurement strategy and issue resolution.
• Establish consistent processes and accountability across teams.
• Collaborate on growth strategy, manpower planning and organizational development.

Elite Executive Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Director of Operations – Major Electrical Projects in the Seattle market.

This is a senior operational leadership opportunity for an accomplished electrical construction professional with a proven record of leading large, complex projects, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for a portfolio of large-scale electrical construction projects.
• Lead and support Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
• Ensure projects achieve safety, quality, schedule, financial, and customer objectives.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, labor productivity, cash flow, and profitability.
• Conduct regular project reviews and identify operational, contractual, financial, and scheduling risks.
• Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure effective project planning, budgeting, constructability, and turnover.
• Oversee staffing and resource allocation across major electrical projects.
• Develop and mentor operational leaders while building a strong leadership pipeline.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, developers, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
• Support contract negotiations, change management, procurement strategy, and resolution of major project issues.
• Establish consistent operational processes and accountability across project teams.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on growth strategy, manpower planning, and organizational development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical construction experience, with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
• Significant experience leading large-scale electrical projects and/or multiple major projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction operations from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Demonstrated experience managing Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field/project teams.
• Strong command of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, labor productivity, change management, and profitability.
• Experience with large commercial, mission-critical, data center, healthcare, industrial, or similarly complex electrical projects preferred.
• Proven ability to develop teams and hold operational leaders accountable for performance.
• Strong understanding of electrical labor planning, procurement, scheduling, and project risk.
• Excellent client-facing, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining closely connected to project execution.
