Job description

Centennial, United States | Posted on 02/23/2026

Atlas OT is a premium systems integrator delivering industrial automation, controls engineering, and lifecycle OT support across energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and mission‑critical industries. We combine engineering rigor, field‑ready execution, and transparent project delivery to help clients operate safely, efficiently, and with confidence.

As we expand our execution capabilities and scale our project portfolio, we are seeking a Director of Operations who brings deep experience in EPC environments or industrial systems integration. This leader will shape our operational strategy, elevate delivery performance, and ensure Atlas OT continues to execute with excellence, compliance, and technical depth.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations owns the operational backbone of Atlas OT—leading project delivery, resource planning, engineering execution, quality, safety, and cross‑functional coordination. This role requires a leader who understands the realities of industrial automation work: complex scopes, multi‑discipline engineering, vendor coordination, fabrication oversight, commissioning challenges, and EPC‑style documentation and controls.

You will oversee project managers, controls engineers, technicians, and support staff, ensuring every project meets Atlas OT’s standards for safety, quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will also develop and manage strategic partnerships with preferred partners, vendors, clients, and be responsible for commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Lead day‑to‑day operations across engineering, project management, fabrication, and field execution.
  • Build and maintain operational systems, processes, and KPIs that support scalable growth.
  • Oversee resource planning, workload balancing, and staffing strategy across active and upcoming projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery workflows, documentation standards, and quality systems.
Project Delivery Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight for automation and controls projects across design, procurement, fabrication, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Ensure project managers and engineering leads maintain accurate schedules, budgets, risk registers, and change logs.
  • Support escalation management, technical issue resolution, and client communication for high‑visibility projects.
  • Review engineering deliverables for completeness, constructability, and compliance with client and industry standards.
Technical & EPC Integration
  • Guide teams through EPC‑style workflows, including design reviews, submittals, RFI management, and turnover documentation.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering, procurement, fabrication, and field execution.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, panel shops, instrumentation suppliers, and system integrator partners.
  • Support development and enforcement of technical standards, QA/QC processes, and commissioning procedures.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and career development pathways for technical and operational roles.
  • Promote a safety‑first mindset across all field and shop activities.
Commercial & Strategic Support
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategy, proposal development, and margin protection.
  • Support contract review, risk assessment, and scope definition for new opportunities.
  • Provide operational input into long‑term strategic planning, capacity expansion, and organizational design.

  • Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects with strict scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Experience with EPC workflows: design packages, submittals, RFIs, procurement, fabrication, QA/QC, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated success building operational systems, processes, and KPIs in a technical organization.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Senior Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or Operations Manager in an EPC or systems integration environment.
