Job description

Do you enjoy a hands-on role, where you can own the warehouse operations & logistics? Are you comfortable holding people accountable when needed? Then you may be the leader we’re looking for!

Our client, Verus Engineering, is an automotive performance business located on the West Side of Indianapolis. They create the ultimate customer experience, one part at a time. Come work for one of the most renowned performance parts manufacturers in the aftermarket as the Director of Operations. Verus is proud to have built a reputation that has professional teams and organizations coming to them.

Why Verus Engineering:

Join a company with an exciting atmosphere, competitive pay, and other unique perks. If you love the world of motorsports, aerodynamics, performance vehicles, and manufacturing, it does not get any better than this.

  • Fully paid medical coverage
  • Paid time off
  • Innovative work environment & opportunities for growth
What You’ll Do:

This isn’t a strategy role; it’s a leadership role for someone who stays close to the work and drives results every day. As the Operations Manager You'll manage and grow a team of 6-10 people, scaling it alongside the leadership structure needed to support that growth, while executing within defined systems and providing structured feedback to improve them over time. The Operations Manager will have opportunities for development as Verus continues to grow and evolve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate warehouse, fulfillment, and shipping operations from end-to-end
  • Manage and develop an efficient team; review weekly performance data, verify accuracy, and hold the team to standards
  • Identify and solve operational problems proactively, before they become fires
  • Have direct, timely accountability conversations when performance doesn’t meet expectations
  • Make decisions using documented decision frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement in on-time delivery, quality, and operational efficiency
What They’re Looking For:
  • 3–7 years managing warehouse, production, or fulfillment operations
  • Experience managing 5–20 people, including hourly workers
  • Background in small-to-mid manufacturing or distribution ($5M–$30M revenue)
  • Track record of catching problems proactively, not just reacting to fires
  • Comfortable with direct accountability conversations, you don’t avoid hard truths
  • Data-driven: you verify performance rather than taking people’s word for it
  • Hands-on: you’re on the floor helping, improving, and working alongside the team, not in a corner office
