Are you ready to make a tangible impact at one of America's fastest-growing e-commerce companies? At Lab Alley, we're building the \"Amazon of Chemicals,\" and we're looking for an exceptional Director of Operations to drive our mission of revolutionizing the chemical industry. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between physical execution and strategic oversight by leading our core functional teams across Supply Chain, Product, Production, Shipping and Fulfillment. Your primary focus will be optimizing end-to-end efficiency, safety, and compliance to ensure we consistently deliver to our customers on time. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, you will spearhead operational strategy, scale our logistics infrastructure, and leverage data and technology to build an accessible, transparent, and sustainable global marketplace. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to elevate our operational excellence, this is the growth opportunity of a lifetime!

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do We believe in clear expectations, and these are the core responsibilities that will define your success in this role:

  • Lead Operations & Cross-Functional Teams: Direct, mentor, and empower key leaders across Supply Chain, Product, Production, Shipping, and Fulfillment, setting clear benchmarks while ensuring we consistently deliver on time to customers, adapt during demand peaks and valleys, and maintain stock readiness at all times.

  • Guarantee On-Time Delivery & Customer Satisfaction: Drive operational execution to meet rigorous standards of safety, quality, and speed, keeping accurate, on-time delivery to our customers at the center of every process.

  • Define Strategy & Operational Excellence: Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to design and execute long-term operational vision while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and lower costs.

  • Partner on Tech & Process Innovation: Work closely with the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Systems & Product Operations to modernize systems, dashboards, and productivity, leveraging SQL, Excel, and BI platforms to gather operational insights across warehouse logistics, quality control, and compliance.

  • Foster Cross-Departmental Synergy: Collaborate directly with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance to align company goals, support scalable business growth, and maintain strict environmental and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Expertise: What You'll Bring Must-Haves:

  • 10+ Years of Operations Experience: Proven track record of leading and scaling operations, supply chain, and logistics in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

  • Multi-Departmental Leadership: Demonstrated success managing and developing leaders across product operations, supply chain, production, and shipping/fulfillment.

  • Data-Driven & Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in leveraging analytics tools to solve complex operational challenges, optimize resources, and track performance KPIs.

  • Regulatory & Quality Standards: Deep commitment to quality control, compliance, safety protocols, and sustainable business practices.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong Communication & Executive Reporting: Ability to translate complex operational metrics into actionable business insights, effectively reporting on critical KPIs such as order-to-shipment ratios, fulfillment throughput, and system downtime to drive strategic decisions.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Industry Expertise: Direct experience in the chemical, e-commerce, life sciences, or regulated distribution sectors.

  • Continuous Improvement Training: Formal certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or related operations management frameworks.
