The Director of Nursing, Women and Infant's services MHB and SOCH, is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, patient centered care throughout the continuum of services. The Director is responsible for the operation of the departments and the measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the department's performance. The Director is the leader of the team accountable for 24/7 management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, management of hum, fiscal, and other resources, development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards and strategic planning. The Director fosters inter-professional collaborative relationships within the Sisters and Women's Service areas and through Catholic Health. The Director is responsible for the operational and financial management of the departments including responsibility for daily management and long term tactical planning and system changes needed to optimize clinical, operational and financial efficiencies. The Director works in collaboration with CH Leadership to achieve strategic goals. The position requires the individual to successfully demonstrate strong planning, organizational and critical thinking, influencing, and leadership skills. The Director supports the goals and principles of the Magnet Journey, Shared Governance model and Unit Practice Councils, and collaborates with nursing leadership, in implementing initiatives and processes that focus on staff recruitment and retention and staff engagement. This is achieved through integrating evidence-based practice and research into clinical practice and leading various projects that support clinical excellence. The Director along with the Assistant Director will Responsibilities EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing
  • Current Licensed Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Master Degree in Nursing or in progress and completed within one (1) year in position.
  • Nationally recognized nursing certification required or within one (1) year in position, preferably Nursing Executive, Advanced
  • Current BLS and ACLS or within six (6) months required
  • Completion of FEMA - National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 courses within 1 year of hire. EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive supervisory/management experience required
