Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living in California is launching a 6-month Director of Resident Care Services In-Training program designed to develop future leaders. Participants will shadow an experienced Director, complete a comprehensive skills checklist, and participate in self-paced online modules and leadership assessments while gaining hands-on experience.

Throughout the program you will receive structured mentorship, regular feedback, and on-site guidance.

Qualifications

  • Active nursing license (RN/LVN/LPN) in applicable state(s).
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in management/supervisory roles preferred in Assisted Living or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 6-month in-training program with shadowing of the Director of Resident Care Services.
  • Engage in structured mentorship, monthly meetings, and progress reviews.
  • Pursue promotion to Director of Resident Care Services post-completion based on merit and business needs.

Launch your leadership career with our comprehensive 6-month Director of Resident Care Services In-Training (DRCSIT) program. This immersive experience provides the skills and knowledge you need to excel as a Senior Living Director of Resident Care Services/Director of Nursing (DON). Learn directly from an experienced Belmont Village Director of Resident Care Services Preceptor at one of our vibrant assisted living and memory care communities, gradually increasing your responsibilities as you grow.

Our structured program combines on-the-job shadowing, a comprehensive skills checklist, self-paced online modules, leadership assessments, and hands-on experience. You’ll be guided by your preceptor and the program administrator, developing both technical expertise and essential leadership skills. Successful completion prepares you to apply for Director of Resident Care Services positions at Belmont Village.

What You Can Expect
  • Comprehensive Rotational Training: Mentored by an experienced Director of Resident Care Services, you will participate in a hands‑on rotational program covering all aspects of care and clinical services. This training will provide you with the skills to effectively manage licensed nurses, medication technicians, and caregivers, including scheduling and assigning daily tasks. You will also learn to serve as a liaison between physicians, residents, and families, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. Additionally, you will participate in an on‑call schedule to address after‑hours clinical needs and gain a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance, all while upholding Belmont Village’s mission and values.
  • Structured Mentorship and Feedback: Your progress will be supported through regular communication with the Program Administrator and Executive Director Preceptor. This includes monthly meetings, ongoing feedback, self‑evaluations, and progress reports, ensuring you receive the guidance and support you need to succeed.
  • Career Advancement: Upon successful completion of the 6‑month training program and with final approval, you will be promoted to a Director of Resident Care Services position, based on the company’s needs and your demonstrated abilities. This program is designed to develop future leaders within Belmont Village.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must hold an active current LVN, LPN or RN Nursing license in applicable state(s)
  • Must have at least 1 year of employment experience in a nursing role
  • Prior experience in management/supervisory roles within the Assisted Living industry (or closely related fields) is highly preferred
  • Nursing experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing or other Long Term Care setting preferred
  • You’ll receive personalized support from a dedicated mentor/preceptor throughout this paid training program. While this structure provides invaluable guidance, we also emphasize the importance of self‑directed learning. Participants are expected to actively drive their own learning, seek out opportunities to apply new skills, and fully leverage the resources and guidance provided during this unique training period.
  • Proficient in workplace technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, and video conferencing, and the ability to rapidly learn other new technological systems
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24 hour operation including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
