Summary

The Resident Care Director is responsible for coordinating resident care to ensure residents remain as independent as possible. They assist residents and their families in maintaining physical, psychosocial, and emotional well-being, acting as a liaison with healthcare personnel and community support systems. The role includes hiring, evaluating, supervising staff, and representing the residence to the community, fostering a culture of quality service and high customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  1. Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  2. Participate actively in growing community occupancy by engaging with potential residents, families, and professionals.
  3. Manage overall community operations, delegating daily responsibilities appropriately.
  4. Maintain open communication with staff, residents, families, and corporate leadership.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
  6. Develop and implement quality improvement, strategic planning, and safety programs.
  7. Manage community outreach and partnerships with local service providers.
  8. Provide resources for staff to perform their duties efficiently.
  9. Maintain departmental budgets and financial controls.
  10. Oversee staff orientation, training, and performance reviews.
  11. Administer medications as per physician orders, including topical, oral, and injectable medications where permitted.
  12. Handle incident reports and implement safety improvements.
  13. Prepare and manage the annual operating budget.
  14. Address resident complaints and grievances appropriately.
  15. Oversee record-keeping and staffing schedules.
  16. Participate in required training and the Manager-on-Duty program.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
  18. CT-Specific Requirements

    Coordinate nursing and assisted living services, supervise staff, evaluate clinical competence, participate in program planning, and ensure 24-hour nursing coverage. Provide reports on service provision and compliance with quality initiatives and regulations.

    Qualifications
  • Computer literacy in office software.
  • Knowledge of senior care, especially dementia care, and emergency handling skills.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the practicing state.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in home health or community health for RNs with a bachelor's degree; or 4 years for diploma/associate degree nurses.
  • At least 25 years old with 2 years of senior care and supervisory experience.
  • Active nursing license and valid driver’s license.
