Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee 24/7 nursing operations, lead strategic planning, and ensure high-quality patient care across assigned units. The role partners with medical staff to meet accreditation standards, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a professional, compassionate work environment.

Responsibilities include staffing, budget oversight, policy development, staff coaching, and driving engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in nursing (if no current Master’s degree must obtain within two years)
• Three years experience in a clinical setting, two of those years with people management experience
• RN - Texas licensure and Magnet-ANCC leadership certification within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Directs, develops and implements strategic and operational/high level projects and processes.
• Oversees management of and ensures development for staff to meet overall objectives in quality, service and cost.
• Meets or exceeds threshold for department turnover and engagement indicators.
• Provides leadership and communication to maintain a competent and engaged employee group.
