Job description

Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is currently recruiting a Director of Nursing or an Assistant Director of Nursing looking to progress and secure a DON position. Our client is a 60+ bedded aged care facility based in Roscommon providing an array of services including convalescences long and short-term care, respite and palliative care.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aged care, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

§Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department

§Develop and implement nursing care plans.

§Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and other relevant regulations.

§Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff.

§Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.

§Manage the nursing department's budget and resources.

§Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.

§Address any issues or complaints regarding nursing care.

§Stay current with the latest nursing practices and healthcare trends.

Qualifications:

§Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMBI registration.

§Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)

§Master's degree preferred.

§Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

§Strong leadership and communication skills.

§Knowledge of regulatory requirements for long-term care facilities.

§Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
