Job summary

Journey in Tucker, GA seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations, ensure exceptional resident care, and drive staff development. The DON will partner with the Executive Director and leadership team to uphold standards and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license in good standing, with 5+ years of clinical experience and at least two years in supervision, plus a track record in long-term care and geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license by State Board of Nursing with managerial ability.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric population preferred.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing department, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
• Direct staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and professional development.
• Assume responsibility for the center in the Executive Director’s absence.
• Develop and implement care plans that promote residents' highest level of functioning.
• Conduct rounds, ensure accurate medical records, and lead care planning committees.
• Maintain open communication with residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff.
• Ensure infection control practices and safety standards.

• Monitors and improve resident outcomes through Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.

Resident, Family, and Community Relations:

• Maintains open communication with residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff.
• Handles concerns and complaints professionally, providing education and resolution.
• Ensures proper infection control practices and adherence to safety standards.
