Journey in Tucker, GA seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to serve as a clinical operations liaison between units and the Director of Nursing. The ADON will manage daily nursing operations, ensure policy compliance, and support care delivery model implementation while mentoring staff.

Required RN license with 3+ years of nursing experience, at least 1 year in supervision; BSN preferred. Strong English communication, BLS/CPR, and dedication to patient-family satisfaction are essential.

Qualifications

• Active R.N. license with a minimum of three years of nursing experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
• BSN preferred, with proven skills in organizing and managing nursing services and personnel.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, with clerical ability to analyze reports and data.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (as required by state regulations).

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and enforcing policies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, participate in chart audits, and oversee infection control, care planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews while promoting professional growth and ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality care.

Description

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing. He/she is responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with center policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. Additionally, he/she is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the care delivery model and processes, mentoring staff, coordination and communication with other departments, and ensuring patient and family satisfaction. In the absence of the DON, the ADON assumes the duties and responsibilities of the DON.
