Job summary

Exton Post Acute is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead clinical operations on-site in Exton, PA. The role requires an active RN license, a nursing degree preferred, and at least 3 years of clinical nursing leadership experience in long-term care or similar settings.

The Director of Nursing will oversee staffing, policy development, QA initiatives, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring staff and promoting a culture of compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in PA (required).
• Leadership and staff development experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards.
• Experience supervising nursing staff.
• Experience in rehabilitative/restorative nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years clinical nursing in hospital or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement staffing plans to support safe, high-quality resident care.
• Conduct rounds to monitor and enhance nursing care quality.
• Build collaborative relationships with residents, families, staff, and interdisciplinary team.
• Partner with Administrator to deliver person-centered care aligned with goals.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures per regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff for growth and clinical excellence.
• Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards for nursing facilities.

Responsibilities for Director of Nursing

• Develop and implement a comprehensive staffing plan that reflects the department's clinical needs and supports safe, high-quality resident care.
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor, evaluate, and enhance the quality of nursing care delivered throughout the facility.
• Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with residents, family members, staff, and the interdisciplinary medical team.
• Partner closely with the Administrator to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that aligns with organizational goals and resident needs.
• Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures in accordance with current federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff to promote professional growth, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
• Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to ensure continuous enhancement of nursing services.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and clinical standards governing nursing care facilities.

Qualifications for Director of Nursing

• Must possess a current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. (PA)
• A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, nursing care center, or other related healthcare setting required.
• Experience in supervision, leadership, and staff development required.
• Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and external agencies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and standards applicable to long‑term care settings.
