Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license in good standing.
• Previous DON experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Strong background in skilled nursing and long-term care.
• Understanding of survey readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation, care planning, staffing, infection prevention, and quality measures.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain nursing teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clinical and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all nursing department operations.
• Manage and support nursing leadership and clinical staff.
• Recruit, train, coach, and retain nursing team members.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels and nursing coverage.
• Oversee resident assessments, care plans, documentation, and clinical services.
• Monitor quality measures, incidents, rehospitalizations, infections, and changes in resident condition.
• Maintain survey readiness and support compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Develop and implement plans of correction and quality improvement initiatives.
• Partner closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team.
• Monitor nursing documentation and clinical practices for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee infection prevention and control practices.
• Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly.
• Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across the nursing department.
• Support staff education, competency, and ongoing clinical development.
• Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation, pharmacy, and other care partners.
