Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day health care delivery system of clients in the cluster. Ensures client health needs are met
- Ensures nursing is following regulatory agencies to maintain ICF/ID certification of the facility by the Agency for Health Care Administration.Participates in Medicaid on-site audits and completes Plan of Corrective Actions (POC) for nursing as needed.Ensures successful implementation and completion of POCs
- Works with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure Active Treatment is incorporated in medical treatment and that all staff understand the importance of continuous Active Treatment
- Attains a thorough knowledge of each client in the facility, to include health and mental status, strengths, and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and family/guardian circumstances
- Recruits, hires, trains, establishes clear expectations, and completes performance evaluations and corrective actions for direct reports
- Administers medications via all routes without error, unrestricted, to include controlled substances
- Oversees monitoring of Nurses administering medication for accuracy
- Works with the Cluster Director to promote a team approach with nursing staff, QIDPS, Staffing Coordinator, Leads, and Direct Support Professionals
- Attends and participates in Meetings and Trainings
- Maintains appropriate certifications, licenses, and CEU’s as necessary
- Ensures a safe environment in all settings to prevent injuries to staff and clients
- Oversees Quality Improvement systems to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards
- Oversees Biohazard waste management
- Ensures nursing and direct care supplies are ordered and inventoried, including ordering additional supplies for hurricane season
- Oversees the storage of and administration of medications to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Uses resources wisely. Ensures items under the nursing and direct care supply budget are within budgetary guidelines
- Ensures nurses are available and participate in client outings
- Oversees and participates in on-call duties to ensure 24-hour RN access to the facility
- Functions as liaison between the Medical Director and other physicians and facility staff
- Oversees resident admission and discharge procedures in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assists in the development and implementation of disaster plans and procedures. Includes in-service training, disaster drill training, and emergency health planning
- Ensures implementation of the Communicable disease (Tuberculosis) policy
- Oversees provision of dietary, dental, and podiatry services
- Oversees Pharmacy activities, to include delivery of medications, and ensures accurate documentation from the pharmacy
- Provides nursing oversight of Adult Day Programs as needed. Schedules and ensures nursing coverage for the Day Program as needed
- Reports to work during inclement weather (hurricanes) to ensure clients health needs are met and assists in emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Florida required
- Bachelor or Masters of Science in Nursing preferred
- 5 years in management or supervisory position required; leadership role preferred
- Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years
- Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future
- Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, understand and follow multi-steps written and verbal instructions
- Use electronic medical record system
- Review, interpret, and implement AHCA/Federal ICF/ID regulations
- Use functional math, analyze, and assess data, and determine appropriate actions
