As a Director of Nursing in Training (DIT) preceptor program is a 6-monthpaid program designed to prepare an individual for a successful career as aDirector of Nursing in Long Term Care.
Upon successful completion of program, the DIT will be placed as theDirector of Nursing at Seal Rock Healthcare.
Wage: $38.00-$40.00 per hour
Wage to increase to DON wage upon successful completion of program.
- Experience: Two to four years of related nursing and leadership experience
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Solid computer skills – both personal computer and electronic medical record
- Strong leadership skills, ability to develop new strengths and skills
- Analytical skills and abilities to turn data into action; moving your facility forward
- Strong reasoning skills, good judgment, and critical thinking skills
- Currently a registered nurse /licensed in Maine.
- CPR certification must remain current during employment.

- Consultwith medical, business, and community groups to discuss service problems,respond to community needs, enhance public relations, coordinateactivities and plans, and promote health programs.
- Developor expand and implement medical programs or health services that promoteresearch, rehabilitation, and community health.
- Communicateeffectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other professional andnon-professional staff.
- Knowledgeableof nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, andguidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility.
- Understandand follow company policies, including harassment and complaintprocedures.
- Maintainskills in order to provide direct nursing care as necessary.
- Conductand administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets,authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, andcoordinating financial reporting.
- Plan,organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals,objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing Services department.
- Reviewand analyze facility activities and data to aid planning and cash and riskmanagement and to improve service utilization.
- Prepareactivity reports to inform management of the status and implementationplans of programs, services, and quality initiatives.
- Useof diagnostic services, inpatient beds, facilities, and staff to ensureeffective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff,equipment, and services.
- Developand maintain computerized record management systems to store and processdata such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports.
- Inspectfacilities and recommend building or equipment modifications to ensureemergency readiness and compliance to access, safety, and sanitationregulations.
- Workwith leadership team to establish appropriate level of CNAs and LPNs pershift based upon budgeted NHPPD
