A leading healthcare system is seeking a Director of Nursing Services to oversee nursing management and ensure exceptional care for residents. This role involves establishing goals and evaluating standards while guiding a dedicated nursing team in a new tertiary care hospital located in Minot. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, hold an RN license, and have significant leadership experience. Work Schedule: Normally days with occasional pm or night
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership and guidance to promote the highest quality of care possible for the resident. Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance; develop operating policies and procedures; interpret hospital policies, standards and regulations to personnel, residents, medical staff, and public. This is achieved through consultation with Administration and consistent with hospital philosophy. The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing nursing management of resident care. The Director serves as chief initiator of effective nursing care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Licenses and Certifications Required
Current North Dakota RN License or compact RN license.
Educational Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Membership in professional organizations desirable.
Experience Requirements
Must have three to four years nursing experience with two in a supervisory position.
Special Skills or Training Requirements
Verification in Nursing Administration is desired. Continual updating of knowledge. Must demonstrate knowledge of communication skills, problem solving techniques, and understanding of human relations. Must demonstrate the ability to apply professional management principles of planning, organizing, and leading nursing to affect exemplary nursing practice.
