We are looking for an LPN or RN to join our established Wellness Team, which includes an Assistant Wellness Director and a scheduler!
Wellness Director Position Summary:
The Wellness Director plays a crucial role in upholding American House’s mission to enrich the lives of those we serve. The Wellness Director supervises all Wellness team members and acts as a manager on duty in the absence of the Executive Director.
Qualifications and Required Experience for Wellness Director:
- RN license; degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of management experience in healthcare or a service-related setting.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of physiological and psychological aspects related to gerontology.
Primary Responsibilities for Wellness Director:
- Facilitate effective communication among Residents, their families, and Resident Assistants.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Residents and family members.
- Supervise, oversee, and delegate tasks to ensure high-quality service within the Wellness Department.
- Foster teamwork by establishing rapport among Wellness team members.
- Recruit, select, and train new Wellness team members.
- Manage all Health and Wellness staff, including training, performance management, coaching, and evaluations.
- Ensure staff complete mandatory training and maintain licensure and certification compliance.
- Enforce safety regulations, including infection control, fire safety, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance.
- Oversee the Medication Aide program through supervision, delegation, and competency checks.
- Report on Wellness Department operations to the Executive and Regional Directors.
- Coordinate healthcare services with third-party providers for continuity of care.
- Manage the Wellness Department budget.
- Verify medical forms and assess residents for care levels prior to move-in.
- Administer vaccinations as required by regulations.
- Oversee medication administration processes.
- Collaborate with residents’ physicians to ensure high-quality care.
- Recommend budget, equipment, and supply needs to the Executive Director.
- Plan staffing schedules to meet operational needs.
- Ensure availability of supplies and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and staff information.
- Investigate complaints, grievances, and incidents, working with leadership on corrective actions.
