Job Description
In collaboration with and under the direction of the Division Dean, assists, manages, and supports day-to-day division operations and implements new initiatives as directed, utilizing effective project management skills.
Serves as Nursing Administrator with the authority and responsibilities defined by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to direct the nursing curriculum and program outcomes.
Operations And Personnel Management
- Demonstrates leadership in respect, integrity, collaboration, and excellence within the Division and across the College, fostering an inclusive environment for faculty participation in division decisions.
- Establishes effective communication between administration and faculty to ensure curriculum integrity and clear articulation of decisions and policies.
- Works with regulatory and accrediting agencies to maintain compliance with curriculum, faculty, and student standards.
- Provides leadership for faculty and staff, maintains office practices for continuous improvement, and evaluates division processes and staff performance.
- Ensures compliance with employee contracts and procedures, and promotes professional development opportunities.
- Signs timesheets, manages adjunct faculty evaluations, and collaborates with HR and Payroll to ensure proper employment procedures.
- Facilitates conflict resolution within the division.
Fiscal
- Monitors resource allocation, departmental budgets, and supports budget development processes.
- Coordinates requests for division support from other college departments.
Research, Reporting, Project Management
- Facilitates program reviews, data collection, and accreditation processes.
- Prepares financial and operational reports.
Communication
- Ensures open communication within the department and maintains clinical site relationships.
Academic Program Management
- Collaborates to develop a dynamic, student-centered class schedule that supports timely program completion.
Professional Development
- Aligns with strategic planning efforts and continues personal development in academic leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing and licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois.
- Higher education teaching experience required; leadership experience preferred.
