Lovelace Regional Hospital in Roswell, NM seeks a day shift, full-time Emergency Services Director of Nursing to lead and oversee ED nursing operations with 24/7 responsibility. Responsibilities include directing the unit, mentoring staff, monitoring quality metrics, and collaborating with physicians to improve patient flow and outcomes while leading a major ED expansion project.

Ideal candidate has BSN, current RN license, and leadership experience in healthcare; MS or certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN in progress if not yet obtained.
• Current RN license or license deemed acceptable by the State Board of Nursing.
• Preferred: 3 years of leadership in healthcare; MS in nursing or related field; certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration.

• The nurse director has twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
• The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws.
• The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff.
• The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement.
• The nurse director is a change agent and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians.
• Responsible for overall administrative, financial, and clinical activities of assigned departments.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor s in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19 if applicant does not have a BSN must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion.
• Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.

• 3 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare
• Master s degree in nursing and/or related field
