Director of Nursing (DON) *Assisted Living*

Wesleyan Village's Assisted Living Facility is seeking a compassionate and professional Director of Nursing (DON) to work in coordination with the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the nursing department functions of our rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our goal of becoming a premier facility.

Responsibilities of the DON:
  • Ensure all nursing personnel comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements to provide the highest quality of resident care.
  • Support the development and implementation of nursing department budgets in coordination with facility administration.
  • Implement compliance and quality improvement policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Oversee surveillance, rounding, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Develop evidence-based organizational infection prevention policies and standards that meet state, federal, regulatory, and accrediting agency standards.
  • Lead infection prevention initiatives, serving as a resource, educator, researcher, and advocate for change to improve infection prevention and quality healthcare within the organization.
Requirements for the DON:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, community resources, and the public.
  • Associate degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited nursing school.
  • Valid Ohio RN license.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a DON is preferred; experience as a Unit Manager or Nursing Supervisor in Long Term Care may be considered.
