Job summary

Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation Center in Nebo, NC, is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Services Department and coordinate care for residents in a compliant, person-centered environment.

The DON will direct operations, manage staff, participate in admissions and facility committees, and oversee infection control and quality improvement initiatives. This role requires an RN license in NC, a nursing degree, and minimum supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Carolina (unrestricted).
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience in nursing.
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, nursing practices, and clinical compliance.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the Nursing Services Department to ensure quality care and compliance.
• Oversee daily operations, staff performance, and adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in admissions decisions, management team meetings, QAPI, and facility committees.
• Supervise nursing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and budget compliance.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and develop nursing staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, physicians, consultants, and families to ensure resident well-being.
• Lead infection control, safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in survey preparation, compliance, and plan of correction processes.
• Serve as Administrator designee when needed.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
