Job summary

Pavilion Management Company is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Services department, ensure compliance, and drive quality care across the facility. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and staff development to maintain high standards of resident care.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, participate in admissions decisions, and engage in performance improvement activities while ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and long-term care laws and guidelines.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, along with its programs and activities, in line with current state and federal laws and regulations.
• Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
• Participate in all admission decisions.
• Participates in management team meetings to discuss census, resident changes, and complaints.
• Evaluates work performance and applies discipline per policies.
• Participate in QAPI or performance improvement activities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient nursing services across the facility. This leadership role involves direct supervision, strategic planning, staff development, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
• Interprets and communicates policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
• Participate in all admission decisions.
• Participates in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, resident changes in status, complaints or concerns.
• Evaluates work performance of all nursing personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.
• Participate in QAPI or facility assessment activities as needed, such as carrying out duties assigned as part of a performance improvement committee.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related health care facilities.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
• Current CPR certification.
