Facility: Valleywise Health Medical Center

Department: Nursing Administration

Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

Step into a pivotal leadership role at the Arizona Burn Center, where innovation, compassion, and clinical excellence intersect. As the driving force behind 24/7 operations, you will be responsible for shaping and leading a world-class Burn Center service line that reflects Valleywise Health’s mission to provide exceptional care without exception.

This role isn’t just about oversight-it’s about vision. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders to craft and execute a bold, strategic roadmap for the Burn Center, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while continually enhancing visibility and reputation through targeted marketing and outreach.

From admission to discharge, you'll champion seamless processes across the continuum of care, focusing on patient flow, clinical excellence, satisfaction, and operational efficiency. With a laser focus on quality and compliance, you’ll ensure safe, standards-driven care while also achieving strong financial performance within established budgets.

A true change agent, you’ll lead through influence over authority, inspiring teams, guiding transformation, and fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and compassion.

Annual Salary Range: $133,057.60 - $196,268.80
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a master’s degree in nursing or
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master's degree in a related field or must obtain a master's degree within four (4) years from the job's start date.
Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible clinical experience within the service line that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience must include demonstrated leadership ability, preferably working in a related management position in a healthcare setting.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center will be required within 3 months.
  • ACLS, PALS, ATNC, or other certifications may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have demonstrated competence in service line management, streamlining, and coordinating clinical services beyond traditional discipline boundaries and department-specific performance improvement, including integrating clinical, quality, and financial outcomes.
  • Requires demonstrated experience in facilitating and implementing a strategic planning process with specific outcomes.
  • Must have previously demonstrated experience in leading a successful change process with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians and healthcare providers and demonstrated knowledge of managing and meeting budget outcomes.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time, and other resources to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.
  • Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control, and coordinate activities.
  • Must be able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively.
  • Must demonstrate ability to be self-directed and excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff, and senior leadership.
  • Must possess good customer service and communications skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards.
